What local SEO is

When someone in Murfreesboro needs a plumber, a dentist or a body shop, they pick up their phone and search for one nearby. Google shows them a map with three businesses on it, then a list of websites. Local SEO is the work of getting your business into those results for the searches that matter to you.

It has two halves. One is your Google Business Profile: the listing with your hours, photos, reviews and phone number that shows on the map. The other is your website: the pages Google reads to understand what you do and where you do it. Both have to say the same thing, and both have to be kept current.

It is not a trick and not a switch. Nobody can promise you a position, and we do not. What we can do is the groundwork, keep at it every month, and show you what changed.

What's included

Local SEO is monthly work, and every month ends with a report of what was done. This is what the month is made of.

Google Business Profile optimization

Categories, services, hours, photos and description set correctly and kept current, so the profile matches the business and the website.

On-page work

Page titles, headings and descriptions on your site that say plainly what you do and where, so Google can match you to local searches.

Citations and listings cleanup

Your name, address and phone number made consistent across the directories Google checks, with wrong or duplicate listings fixed.

Content

Pages and updates written around the services and the places you want to be found for.

Also from Jeff

For businesses that want more than organic search, Google Ads management has its own page. Marketing consulting is further down this one.

What to expect

Who shows up in the map results for a search depends on distance from the searcher, how complete and active the profile is, and how well the website backs it up. Two of those three are things we work on; the third is where the searcher happens to be standing.

That makes local SEO ongoing work rather than a one-time fix. Profiles need new photos and posts, listings drift, and competitors change. We do the work each month and report what moved.

What we will not do is promise a ranking. Anyone who does is guessing. If someone has offered to sell you a top spot, be careful with whoever offered it.

A note on Google

Google does not verify or endorse these services. We are not Google and we are not affiliated with Google; we work on your profile and your site on your behalf.

Common questions

How long does SEO take?

It depends on your competition, how complete your profile and site are today, and how established the business is. Local SEO is monthly work and the changes build up over months rather than days. We do not promise a date or a position; we report each month on what was done and what moved.

What does Google Business Profile optimization mean?

Your Google Business Profile is the listing that appears on the map and in the panel when someone searches your business name. Optimizing it means getting every field right (primary category, services, hours, address, phone, description, photos) and keeping it active, so it matches your website and gives Google no reason to doubt it.

Do I need a new site first?

Not always. If your site works on a phone and says clearly what you do and where, we can start on the profile and the listings right away. If it is slow, out of date or does not fit a phone screen, fixing that first makes everything else work better. We will tell you which on the call.

What does the report show?

A plain-words report each month of what was done and what changed. Ask Jeff on the call what it covers for your business.

Someone from Google called me. Is that real?

Google does not call businesses to sell listings or rankings; those calls come from third parties using the name. If you want to check your profile, sign in at business.google.com yourself, or call us and we will look at it with you.
